Welcome to the entertaining and honest insights into the blended family life of The Cayleys.

"It would be rude to keep all the joy, rage, laughter, screaming, cup-filling, soul-destroying, moments of insanity to myself."

- Franii Cayley (wife, mum, stepmum, furmum).

Not Quite Nuclear is here to share with you the situations my big, beautiful, crazy family has survived to help normalise the feelings of coming up short that come with not nailing stepparenting (and parenting) every day (or any days) and to put one foot in front of the other in a life where you don’t always feel in control of what’s happening around you and to you.

Let’s normalise the conversations, like where does the stepmum fit on her stepchild’s graduation day, and is it OK to use the stepparent’s clothes for a bonfire?

“How is that pressure?” Why is this question only asked when you’re getting a massage and literally nowhere else in life?
